The permanent ensemble Take Off, dedicated to improvised and research music, was formed in 2016 thanks to a collaboration between the Brescia Teatro Grande Foundation, the composer Mauro Montalbetti and the multi-instrumentalist and improviser Emanuele Maniscalco. The original members of the ensemble are eight great instrumentalists and improvisers from Brescia and Bergamo and it is engaged in genres ranging from jazz to contemporary art music, from pop to experimental, from rock to electronic.

On the occasion of Bergamo-Brescia Italian Capital of Culture 2023, the ensemble will be involved in an original collaboration with the Italian-French sound designer and music collagist ØKAPI (Filippo Paolini), a sound artist known for his adventurous and intelligent approach.
