The idea behind the orchestration of the pieces in this project is that of drawing the sound of chamber music towards that of the tango orchestra of the Golden Age of the 1950s.
Besides some well-known compositions by the Argentinian master, another that stands out is a rare arrangement of 1953, Triunfal, that the Argentinian composer himself wrote for the great master of tango Anibal Troilo and his orchestra. The piece that, thanks to Nadia Boulanger, shone light on and began the transformation of Piazzolla’s nuevo tango. The programme includes compositions arranged by the Astor Piazzolla’s masters, such as Nadia Boulanger and Alberto Ginastera. Finally, there will be space for the compositions of our contemporaries that have worked with the master, including Richard Galliano, great virtuoso of the modern accordion, and Pablo Ziegler, historic pianist of Astor Piazzolla.
