Torment and jealousy
Torment & Jealousy è the title of a programme full of contrasts and passion, expressed through the music of the 18th century. This programme will be taken to major international venues in 2025, specifically to the prestigious Innsbruck Early Music Festival, and to Prague in the Season of Collegium 1704.
Conceived as a solo recital in which the brilliant talent of Margherita Maria Sala can stand out and excite listeners, this programme features pages by composers such as Baldassarre Galuppi, Leonardo Leo, Giovanni Antonio Ristori, Giovanni Battista Martini and of course Antonio Vivaldi; some of them specially edited and transcribed by Thomas Chigioni and presented exclusively in their first performance in modern times.
All these illustrious musicians composed intense and expressive music, with the aim of expressing the passions of the human soul through their very special musical language, a characteristic that has led this programme to be a kaleidoscope of feelings with many different colours and shapes.
The programme is enriched by refined instrumental music that, inserted between the cantatas, can act as an introduction or commentary.
