Silvia Mezzanotte in “Vorrei che fosse amore”. Homage to Mina
“Vorrei che fosse amore”
OMAGE TO MINA
This is the title of the new project presented by the Nuovo Teatro Verdi of Montecatini Terme, which will feature the extraordinary voice of Silvia Mezzanotte.
On 23 August 1978, at the Teatro Bussoladomani on the seafront in Lido di Camaiore,
Mina took the stage for her last live performance before retiring from the stage. A concert destined to consecrate her forever as the great icon of Italian music. And it will be that unforgettable night that will be the setting for the recital dedicated to her. The atmosphere and lights of the Bussola, a ten-piece orchestra, and two actors who, through the Tigre di Cremona's most beautiful songs, will unveil their unusual love story.
The performers will be Silvia Mezzanotte, one of the most appreciated voices on the Italian scene. After her long artistic association with Matia Bazar and dozens of tours in Italy and abroad, she has released three solo albums and taken part as a protagonist in numerous theatre and television shows. In 2016, he won the “Tale e Quale Show”, with a series of sensational performances, including his interpretation of Brava, a song brought to success by Mina herself. “My desire to pay homage to Mina – says Silvia – is equal to the love and sense of gratitude I have for her as an artist and as a woman. And è the same that drove me to enthusiastically accept the starring role in this show”.
Direction and lyrics are by Gabriele Colferai.
On stage there will be the all-female orchestra Ensemble Le Muse, fresh from the glorious Italian and European tour of “Omaggio a Morricone – Musiche da Oscar”, conducted by Maestro Andrea Albertini.
On stage Beatrice Baldaccini (Pretty Woman, Grease, Balliamo sul Mondo, Raffaella!) and Gabriele Colferai play the couple in love telling their story to the tune of Mina's most famous hits: Parole parole parole; Insieme; Anche un uomo, Grande grande, grande; L’importante è finire e molti altri.
Songs that have provided the soundtrack for entire generations reinterpreted by Mezzanotte who, with talent and respect, will pay tribute to the undisputed queen of Italian songs. Because this is the only way to celebrate a great Myth: by continuing to sing it.
