"Mare Nostrum": Paolo Fresu, Richard Galliano, Jan Lundgren @Lazzaretto
Mare Nostrum was born from the meeting of three strong personalities of European jazz: Paolo Fresu from Sardinia, an authentic poet of the trumpet and one of the best-loved Italian jazz musicians, also abroad; Richard Galliano from France, an extraordinary accordionist who has revolutionised the language of his instrument; and Jan Lundgren from Sweden, one of the most refined pianists around. In the background is the Mediterranean, which has always been a crossroads of cultures, of ancient and modern histories, a symbol of dialogue between peoples, but also of terrible tragedies that we would like to put behind us, but which are unfortunately still highly topical. The Mare Nostrum of Paolo Fresu, Richard Galliano and Jan Lundgren è a sea of sounds, a utopia of beauty in which each of the three musicians reflects himself, putting his respective baggage of experience at the service of a common musical and poetic vision.
