International Piano Festival of Brescia and Bergamo
NOCHES DE ESPAÑA
The Latin country par excellence has always exerted an almost exotic fascination among European composers. Beginning with the most important piano works of the Spanish world, Iberia by Albéniz, Goyescas by Granados, Noches en los jardines de España by Manuel de Falla, representing the soul and traditions of this nation, the Festival will alternate between the two; “musical postcards” by composers who had no direct links with Spain, although they did evoke it musically in their works – Čajkovskij, Rimsky-Korsakov, Liszt and Debussy – and composers who instead breathed Spanish “nights” such as Ravel, Chopin and Scarlatti.

In 2025, the Festival will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the death of Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, whose artistic legacy is more alive than ever.
