Extravagant concerts
The title of this concert takes its cue from a famous collection of Vivaldi's concertos, “La Stravaganza” op. 4, to explore that series of pieces, combinations of instruments, musical languages and evoked images that break out of the ordinary and make the Baroque the age of descriptions in music and expressive excesses.
This programme deliberately goes beyond the figure of Vivaldi and seeks to embrace a broader panorama that includes exponents of the previous century, such as the Mantuan Farina, the Neapolitan school with Carlo Cecere and the German school with the music of Telemann.
