Mascoulisse Quartet: PROGETTO VERDIANO - VERDI 1901
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Mascoulisse Quartet presents a project entirely dedicated to Giuseppe Verdi, approached from a historical and profoundly musical perspective.
The trombone quartet plays on original instruments from Verdi’s time, restoring to the public the Italian sound of the 19th century: warm, enveloping, textural. A sound that does not push, but tells. That does not overpower, but supports. A sound that comes from the natural breathing of the instruments and their ability to sing.
It's a journey into a fascinating palette of timbres, made up of balance, depth and song. A plunge into a world of sound in which every note has weight, colour and soul; where music is never pure surface, but living matter that vibrates and is transmitted naturally.
The project "Verdi 1901" starts from a simple and powerful question: what è remained of Verdi's sound after his death? The answer is in the music itself, which never remained silent. It has only continued to breathe, transforming itself, traversing time, but keeping its narrative and emotional power intact.
The programme traverses some of the most celebrated pages of Verdi's theatre, reinterpreted through the chamber music language and historical sensitivity of the quartet.
