BERGAMO JAZZ FESTIVAL 2020: MARCH EDITION POSTPONED TO JUNE

We hoped to the very last, but following the Decree of the Prime Minister’s Office issued yesterday in relation to the spread of Coronavirus, we are forced to postpone the 42 nd edition of Bergamo Jazz.

Although the decision is very painful, we are certain that it is important to respect the measures taken to deal with the current health emergency and protect the health of all.

The Fondazione Teatro Donizetti, with the Artistic Director Maria Pia De Vito and all the festival staff, is already working to reorganize the 2020 edition of Bergamo Jazz, albeit in a reduced form, from June 5 th to 7 th, in the Lazzaretto area used for main concerts (in case of bad weather at the Creberg Theatre) and in other places in the city for the side events.

Contacts are currently underway with the artists who were supposed to perform in March to check their new availability and to try and respect the planned programme in the best way possible.

Postponing the festival will certainly have serious repercussions at an organizational and economic level: the Fondazione Teatro Donizetti will make every effort to ensure that the new programme is in line with the tradition and prestige of Bergamo Jazz.

Trusting in the collaboration of the public, season ticket holders and those who have purchased tickets for the festival will soon receive information regarding the new programming and the possible refund method.
