One of the most versatile representatives of contemporary vocal style performs among the works of the Carrara Academy, from which he will certainly draw inspiration for its admirable evolutions.
He was born in Dortmund, he is very active on New York and international scenes, Theo Bleckmann knows how to bend apparently very different repertoires to his vocal chords, such as the “songs” of Charles Ives, Kurt Weill, Kate Bush, from the golden age of American songbook flourished in the shadow of Broadway. He has collaborations with Meredith Monk, Laurie Anderson, Uri Caine, Philip Glass, Ambrose Akinmusire, Sheila Jordan, Michael Tilson Thomas, Kenny Wheeler, John Zorn, the Bang on a Can All-Stars group and others. His albums include Hello Earth – the Music of Kate Bush and ECM Elegy.
At the side of Theo Bleckmann there is for the occasion one of his regular collaborators, the American keyboardist Henry Hey, already a participant of the project on Kate Bush and well known in the field of pop music for his collaborations, in the multiple roles of producer, arranger and musician, of David Bowie, George Michael, Rod Stewart, Empire of The Sun and Ariana Grande. He also participated in the creation of numerous cinematographic soundtracks.
