ROBERTO MATTEI New Quartet

Roberto Mattei, a double bass player and multifaceted musician, active in the fields of jazz, classical music, teaching and arranging, since 2018 he has dedicated himself particularly to composition, concentrating most of his career in recent years on the creation of his new compositions. Hence the birth of the Hurricane Trio completed by Lorenzo Blardone and Massimiliano Salina, with whom the double bassist has recorded three CDs, Let’s Go Ahead, Turning Point and Grateful, the latter two featuring American saxophonist Chris Collins. The addition of the versatile guitar of Davide Sartori led to the formation of the New Quartet, with which the leader expands his compositional concepts through a broader colour palette.
