“A casual, lucky, alchemical encounter that took place years ago between Pasquale Mirra and Hamid Drake, but nothing resonates randomly listening to the music that the Italian vibraphonist, internationally considered one of the best performers of this instrument, and the American drummer, veteran of endless musical battles: surprise and unpredictability, the desire to overcome the limits of conventions with an continuous sound research, with a constant and imaginative instrumental exchange, are elements traceable in this duo, now tested by several concerts.
Originally from Campania, Pasquale Mirra boasts collaborations of great human and artistic depth with worldwide renown improvisers, among which: Michel Portal, Hamid Drake, Fred Frith, Ballakè Sissoko, Nicole Mitchell, Ernst Reijseger, Rob Mazurek and Butch Morris.
