Music and literature have always been mutual sources of inspiration. They are two expressive forms that
not only tell “stories” with different languages, turning on the imagination of the reader/listener, but often use the same creative procedures. The didactic project developed for secondary school pupils alternates some readings of Italo Calvino’s tales with musical performances inspired by them.
The result is an exciting journey through the world of Calvino’s fairy tales and jazz that induces the
viewer to actively listen to the lyrics and music. The encounter with jazz music therefore does not take
place through the narration of its history, styles and its characters, but directly within the music when it is made by the musicians on stage.
