JAKOB BRO Trio featuring ARVE HENRIKSEN and JORGE ROSSY
Refined guitar arpeggios that create delicate textures, an almost ethereal trumpet sound that seems to come from an unexplored world, delicate strokes on cymbals and drums that manifest sophisticated timbre research rather than acting as rhythmic support; these, in short, are the characteristics of the sound of the trio of Danish guitarist Jakob Bro, Norwegian trumpeter Arve Henriksen and Spanish drummer Jorge Rossy, as can be seen when listening to Uma Elmo. Jakob Bro is one of the most interesting European guitarists of the moment. In the past he has collaborated with Paul Motian, Thomasz Stanko and Lee Konitz, all of whom he pays tribute to in Uma Elmo. Arve Henriksen is a musician of extraordinary originality, a leading figure in the most adventurous Scandinavian jazz, while Jorge Rossy is a drummer of great sensitivity and versatility, as demonstrated by his long militancy in Brad Mehldau’s trio.
