The Water Tour covers a stretch of roads and alleyways about 3 km long, entirely within the spectacular 17th-century Venetian Walls. It starts at Colle Aperto and ends at the Sant’Agostino Reservoir, one of the most famous and popular gateways to the Upper Town. Aquae Ductus Bergomensis is an itinerary which will take guests by the hand and guide them through different historical periods, where the artistic, architectural and engineering evolution of the aqueduct complex is shown in all its far-sightedness. There are 15 stops on the tour inside the Walls: cisterns, fountains, the historic washhouse in Via Mario Lupo and other so-called minor sites, but of strategic importance in satisfying the great thirst of Bergomum.
