JAZZ EXHIBITION: JAZZ IN BERGAMO 1969-2019
Opening of the painting exhibition
JAZZ IN BERGAMO 1969-2019
by Gianni Bergamelli
Painter by profession, pianist for pleasure, Gianni Bergamelli (Nembro, 1930) places in both artistic fields a great passion and an immense, unending love. In his paintings, jazz is always there, depicted in gestures, colours and living material. His exhibition, presented by a “cubist” Louis Amstrong and held in a venue old fans of Bergamo jazz know well (in fact in the seventies it hosted memorable concerts of Bill Evans, Freddie Hubbard, Phil Woods, Johnny Griffin, Teddy Wilson, Enrico Rava, John Surman and many others), symbolically retraces 50 years of sounds, through paintings which intrinsically possess a natural, alluring musicality.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 17 February to 4 March 2019 (10am-12pm/4pm-7.30pm).
