Great news for the theatre lovers in Bergamo, Lombardy and Italy: Bergamo, after re-opening the
Teatro Sociale in the Upper Town, becoming this way one of the few towns lucky enough to have two historical theatres both active at the same time, fills the said Theatre with contents of its own, in accord with a precise artistic design wanted, promoted and produced by the municipal Assessorship for Culture and Entertainment.

The Donizetti Theatre reopens next September 17, 2010 with Gaetano Donizetti's opera POLIUTO which is performed again on September 19. The opera season continues up to December presenting Giovanni Simone Mayr's "L'amor ingegnoso", Gaetano Donizetti's "Il campanello", Giuseppe Verdi's "Rigoletto", W.A. Mozart's "Don Giovanni", Gaetano Donizetti's "Don Pasquale" and it will end with Cajcosvkij's "Swan Lake". Read the full program and information about box office
